September at Wölffer is a season of purpose and anticipation. The vineyard, once teeming with summer vibrance, now reveals clusters of perfectly ripened grapes, each one a product of the meticulous care that Vineyard manager Richie Pisacano and his devoted team take. The air is cooler, the light a little softer, and there’s an unmistakable sense of momentum: harvest has begun. This is the moment we’ve worked toward all year, when every decision in the vineyard culminates in ripe fruit ready to become expressive, age-worthy wine. Every week we walk over 100,000 steps, berry sampling, analyzing the juice, tasting the fruit and evaluating each block to ensure each variety is picked at its peak moment, capturing the depth and nuance that define a great vintage.

At the same time, our commitment to elevating New York wine continues. We’re advocating for greater inclusion of local wines on wine lists across the region, and we invite you to be part of that movement and become ambassadors. When dining out, ask for New York wines. Your voice helps shape a stronger, more visible New York wine region, one that celebrates local excellence and shares it proudly with the world.
